About Dept of Hometown Security
We created a dynamic model for community advisory boards that represent a cross section of local leaders including parents, students, business and homeowners, tenants, and educators with connections to informal networks and plenty of real world experience. Their insights, actions, and pride are a vital part of economic revitalization.
We support the development of cutting-edge minority and/or women-owned enterprises in low-status communities such as the South Bronx. The Lab provides entrepreneurs with affordable commercial storefront space to operate, marketing assistance, and mentoring.
Community
We proudly partner with a variety of neighborhood associations, organizations, property owners, and businesses in our community to provide support for a diverse array of community building projects from back-to-school giveaways to public art projects.
